Yes, you can build an ecommerce website with Webflow: Ecommerce plans handle physical and digital products, the cart, payments (Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay) and automatic tax calculation, with a fully customizable design. Webflow works best for catalogs of a few dozen to a few thousand products, when brand and content matter as much as the sale.

Its limits are specific: 15,000 items maximum on the highest plan, no native multi-currency, and no more native subscriptions since User Accounts were shut down in January 2026.

This guide covers 2026 pricing, what Webflow can do, what it cannot, and the steps to launch your store.

A Webflow ecommerce website: which projects is it for?

Webflow is first and foremost a visual design tool with a built-in CMS and hosting. Its Ecommerce module adds products, a cart and checkout in the same environment. The result: a store where every page, including the cart and checkout, follows your brand identity.

Webflow Ecommerce is a good fit if:

  • your catalog stays under a few thousand products;
  • you sell in a single currency;
  • storytelling, editorial content and SEO play a role in the buying decision;
  • your marketing team wants to edit pages without a developer.

Choose a dedicated platform (Shopify, PrestaShop, WooCommerce) if you have a large catalog, several currencies, subscriptions, advanced customer accounts or B2B needs such as customer-specific pricing.

Standard$29 / month5002%2,000 / 2050 GB
Plus$74 / month5,0000%10,000 / 40100 GB
Advanced$212 / month15,0000%10,000 / 40100 GB

Prices taken from the official Webflow pricing page in October 2026, in US dollars excluding tax. Payment provider fees (Stripe or PayPal) come on top of Webflow's fees. The Standard plan stays cost-effective as long as the 2% fee costs less than the price gap with the Plus plan.

This budget covers the subscription, not the design work. To estimate the full project cost (design, build, content), see our article on the cost of a Webflow website.

What Webflow Ecommerce does natively

  • Sell physical products, digital products and services, with variants (size, color, format).
  • Accept payments through Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
  • Automatically calculate VAT or sales tax for customers in the United States, Canada, the European Union and Australia.
  • Set shipping zones and rules, with a simplified checkout for orders that do not need shipping.
  • Fully customize the design of the cart and checkout.
  • Manage orders, their status and refunds from the dashboard.
  • Connect to Printful, Shippo, QuickBooks or Mailchimp, and to hundreds of tools through Zapier.

These features are the ones listed on the Webflow Ecommerce page in October 2026. Customer accounts with order history are still listed there as a coming feature.

The limits to know before you start

Subscriptions and member areas

Selling subscriptions on Webflow relied on User Accounts. According to the Webflow help center, this feature was turned off on all sites on January 29, 2026. Existing subscriptions keep being charged in Stripe, but Webflow points to third-party tools such as Memberstack or Outseta for member areas.

A single currency

Webflow does not offer native multi-currency: it is still an open request on its public wishlist. Third-party apps from the Webflow Marketplace, such as Monto Multi-Currency, work as a workaround. For a truly international store, a dedicated platform is still simpler.

Catalog size and ecosystem

The cap is 15,000 items on the Advanced plan. The range of ecommerce apps is also much smaller than Shopify's: loyalty programs, B2B sales or advanced logistics often require custom integrations.

No store export

Webflow code export includes neither products nor checkout. Ecommerce collections can be exported as CSV, which makes migration easier, but the store itself only works on Webflow hosting.

Webflow and Shopify: the hybrid option

When the catalog or the requirements go beyond Webflow, you can keep Webflow for the brand site and hand the cart and checkout to Shopify. The Webflow Shopify integration page states that there is no official app: you use Shopify's Buy Button, third-party apps (Smootify, Storesynk, Looop) or a custom build on the API. Checkout then happens on the Shopify domain.

6 steps to launch a store on Webflow

1. Define the catalog and constraints

List the number of products expected in 12 months, the variants, shipping countries, currency, payment methods and subscription needs. If any of these runs into one of the limits described above, settle the question before designing a single page.

2. Enable Ecommerce and choose a plan

Enable Ecommerce in the project: Webflow then creates the Products and Categories collections and the template pages. A paid Ecommerce plan is required to publish on your domain and take orders. Choose it based on the number of items and the expected sales volume.

3. Structure products and categories

Add custom fields that help sales and SEO: benefits, materials, size guide, product FAQ, dedicated SEO title and description. A clean structure from the start saves you from reworking hundreds of product pages later.

4. Design the template pages

Design the product, category, cart and checkout templates. Test them with real data: a long product name, a product with no reviews, an out-of-stock variant. Check the mobile layout first.

5. Set up payments, taxes and shipping

Connect Stripe and, if needed, PayPal. Turn on automatic tax calculation, define shipping zones and customize transactional emails. Add the legal pages required in France: legal notice (mentions légales), terms and conditions of sale, withdrawal terms and privacy policy.

6. Test, then publish

Place a real order from start to finish, including a refund. Check the title tags and meta descriptions of the templates, the speed of product pages and conversion tracking in your analytics tool, then publish.

SEO for a Webflow store

  • Bind the SEO title and meta description of templates to dedicated fields, rather than to the product name alone.
  • Add JSON-LD structured data in Webflow (Product, Offer, FAQPage) fed by CMS fields.
  • Write useful category copy (buying advice, comparisons) instead of plain product grids.
  • Plan 301 redirects for every product that is removed or renamed.
  • Compress product images and limit third-party scripts on product pages.

What we have learned at Synqro

At Synqro, we recommend Webflow Ecommerce to brands with a short catalog whose value comes through content: brand universe, guides, editorial pages. As soon as a project needs several currencies, subscriptions or a large catalog, we point to Shopify or the hybrid option. We make that call during scoping, before any quote.

As a benchmark, we deliver a complete site in 8 to 12 weeks, for a budget of €3,000 to €20,000 excl. VAT depending on design, brand work and SEO. If you want an opinion on whether your store is feasible, our Webflow Premium Partner team can review your requirements.
